Front Garden Makeover

Recreating our front garden had been a long-held plan, and this summer the work finally began.
The front garden was mainly evergreen, with box topiary. With box blight affecting most gardens in recent years, ours included, it was time to remove the diseased box and create an entirely new garden.
The inspiration came from the wildflower meadow in our favourite park, Buckingham Park in Shoreham-by-Sea, and its delicate, soft colours.
With the inspiration in place, we headed to our local garden centre and stayed true to the meadow, choosing plants in similarly soft shades.
the garden has become a wonderful haven for bees and butterflies too
A garden should reflect its owners' personality just as a home does, and in our front garden I believe we have achieved that.
The garden is filled with subtle hues of sky blue, lilac, hazy mauve and varied tints of pink.
It has been a joy to watch everything we planted blossom and grow, and the garden has become a wonderful haven for bees and butterflies too.
The dahlias are in full bloom and look splendid. This is the first year I have grown them, and the reward has been considerable; I pick them regularly for vases indoors.
After all, nothing surpasses a bouquet of flowers from your own garden.
