Art of Display: Hellebores in a Crystal Bowl

BEAUTY OF HELLEBORE

Hellebores are among my favourite spring flowers, and they appear in abundance in my garden at this time of year.

Their charm lies in their nodding blooms and the wonderful range of shades they come in.

They are the perfect plant for any garden or pot: compact, and happy in shady areas too.

As soon as the flowers appear I bring handfuls indoors, but cut stems droop after a couple of days. The best way to display the blooms is to snip off the heads, leaving a tiny piece of stem, and float them in water.

A crystal bowl filled with water shows hellebores at their best, but they look equally good floating in a china bowl.

Create vignettes of your own, using treasures you love and flowers from your garden.
