Wildflowers in the Park

Wildflowers in the Park

On a walk through our favourite park with our dog Louis, we came across a wonderful surprise: a small meadow of beautiful wildflowers.

They lit up the whole park and brought joy to everyone who walked through it.

It was a mesmerising sea of vibrant colour glistening in the afternoon sun, and it demanded to be photographed; we took many pictures. A joy for the eye and the senses.

It was a wonderful haven for bees and butterflies, many of them dancing among the nectar-rich flowers.

The pink corn cockles, red poppies and delicate blue cornflowers were my favourites, and the butterflies seemed to favour them too.

Anyone walking through the park may well be inspired to create a small meadow of their own: it provides plenty of pollen and nectar for insects, as well as a feast for the eyes and senses.

If you love wildflowers, the Tower of London’s Superbloom was a wonderful sight: a sea of wildflowers planted in the moat in 2022 to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
