Cherry Blossom & Daffodils Flower Arrangement

First cherry blossom

On dark, wet February days, the first cherry blossom in the garden is a joy. The flowers are dainty, small and perfect, sitting on the branches like glistening jewels, and a couple of branches brought indoors brighten the living room at once.

Never underestimate the power of a few blooms. Whether from your own garden or the supermarket, flowers brighten the darkest days, lift the mood and bring welcoming warmth to the home.

Daffodils

Nothing speaks of spring more than a handful of daffodils, a reminder that spring is just around the corner.

I favour the creamy varieties mixed with their more traditional yellow cousins. I planted an array of different daffodil bulbs last autumn, and the result has been a delight.

Every week I pick handfuls to dot around the house. Mixing daffodils with twigs from the garden adds a little drama and makes the flowers really stand out.

The twigs can be used again and again; they last almost indefinitely.

Bring nature indoors: whatever is blooming in your garden, or even just a few evergreen branches.

Take pleasure in arranging them. It engages all the senses, and there is real joy in seeing what you have grown brought indoors.
