Tara's Garden – January to December · November of 12
Tara's November Letter

November has a quiet charm of its own. There is a stillness in the air, a feeling that nature is winding down, and so are we. It is the time for a walk through the countryside among crisp fallen leaves, as the season gives way to winter.

The last of the dahlias
The garden has been stripped of the last of summer's growth, except for the wondrous dahlias, which should continue to flower for a little while yet, until the first frost. Our dahlias have graced the house all summer long, and so far I have not bought a single flower.

A feeling that nature is winding down, and so are we.
Cosy days indoors
Now the focus turns indoors, to making the home warm and cosy for the colder months ahead. Make sure the house is well stocked with candles and soft throws for the hibernation period.

This is my time for books and writing, for a little rearranging around the home, and for making warming food to enjoy on cosy nights in.
