Hampton Court Flower Show

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

The world's largest flower show, in the most magnificent setting: Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival returned in 2022 with beautiful naturalistic show gardens and a floral marquee filled with exceptional blooms.

In the Festival of Roses marquee, the roses were at their absolute peak, the finest display of rose varieties I have ever seen. I was truly seduced by their show-off beauty and fragrance.

Among them was the very special ‘Dame Deborah James’ rose; with each one sold, a donation went to Cancer Research, a very worthy cause.

We took tea in the ‘rose tea garden’, a pretty garden that demonstrated how well roses grow alongside perennials and soft grasses. It is an excellent way to grow your favourite roses.

The planting method inspired me to recreate the idea in our own front garden. Next year, once the plants are a little more established, the results should really show.

Another highlight was the ‘RHS Flower Show School’, with beautiful blooms from ‘The Farm’.

The experts offered a wealth of useful advice on creating exciting displays with British-grown flowers and sustainable floristry methods.

The RHS Hampton Court Flower Show not only showcased some breathtaking gardens; it offered the best shopping experience too.

Plant stands offered excellent plants to take home, alongside everything else you could think of to make an outdoor space more inviting and beautiful.

We had a wonderful day, and there was time to sit and relax with a glass of champagne from one of the many artisan food and drink stands, to the uplifting music of a great band.
